Dr Koulouglioti is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Research and Innovation Department of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is seconded to the Research Centre of Transcultural Studies in Health at Middlesex University.

Dr Koulouglioti holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Athens, Greece. She completed her PhD at School of Nursing, University of Rochester, USA, and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the High Risk Children and Youth Centre of the University of Rochester.

She has worked as an Emergency Department Nurse in Greece and as a tenure track Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester until 2012 when she moved with her family to the UK. The last eight years she holds a position as a Senior Research Fellow at the Research and Innovation Department of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where she manages the local research investigator study portfolio. She has extensive research experience using different quantitative and qualitative methodologies and working with populations across the life span. She was seconded to Middlesex University working with Prof I. Papadopoulos at the Research Centre for Transcultural Studies in Health, in the CARESSES project between 2017 to 2020. She remains an active member of the centre collaborating on the international survey projects and other initiatives.

Outside work, she is a mother to two lovely girls (11 and 16 years old). She likes going to the movies, meeting family and friends, going to restaurants and listening to music.
